The rapugue festival
Entertainment/recreation - Ramatuelle
Since 2023, the circle has replaced its famous fête des vendanges with the fête des rapugues.
But what is it? And why?
Thursday 25 September 2025 between 11.30 am and 1 pm.
Rapugue, which means "grapillon" in Provençal, is a second-generation grape that used to be harvested well after the grape harvest. These grapes were used to make verjuice, an acidic juice most often used for cooking.
The truth is, in 2023 we were behind schedule in our preparations for the fête des vendanges, which starts very early these days, and so we "grappled" for a few weeks by organizing a later fête. We liked the concept and today we've decided to perpetuate this new and unique festival, in the hope that it will one day become as famous as our other traditional Ramatuellois festivals.
This year, we've chosen Christian Gil, with a mix of French and Anglo-Saxon variety, to season this rapugue festival.
